The first roll of film I ever shot of skateboarding in February of 1979 was Kodachrome 64 and I shot it with my roommate’s camera. Now’s serious catch-up time so that those of you who were hibernating, drinking or just not interested enough to follow up on the latest happenings in the semi-soap series from SLAP Magazine entitled “One In A Million”…getting serious, the contest is quite cool, the skaters again are mad but one can’t deny that it is slightly overproduced. But hell, it sure has me coming back to watch it so enjoy the episodes 6, 7 and 8…I’ll be posting the rest tomorrow before we all head out to our respective “Get Rid Of 2010″ parties 
In these episodes blood flows after a supersonic hilldive, a double-set is torn apart by a grumpy contestant and Treasure Island is conquered with help from guest pro Tommy Sandoval!

Some of my favorite video clips came from the Thrasher Magazine Skatepark Round-Up series and as they are a bunch of cool people over there, they’ve put just over 5 minutes of the 2010 series into one beauty of a clip. Makes me want to pack my bags and leave everything behind me right now! Concrete never looked better…

For me the Skateistan project in Afghanistan is the most moving and courageous skateboarding project I have heard of in 2010. Sure, there are many other great efforts going on in skateboarding which deserve to be mentioned and need support but I decided to pick out Skateistan today. I don’t want to tell any “please donate money to the poor kids” stories so read on, check out the links if you wish and of course watch the moving Skateistan documentary film included below – a great story about how skateboarding can make life just a whole lot better!
