X Games fixture, mega ramp creator and defending Big Air Rail Jam champion, Danny Way, will not compete in the Big Air or the Big Air Rail Jam this year at X Games 16. It was the talk of the Coliseum at Wednesday’s practice session and qualifying round. Way, who is one of the true warriors of skateboarding, and has overcame countless hard slams, isn’t pulling out because of an injury is he? Of course not.
Then why is he not going to compete this year? Well, you came to the right..

The vert ramp, an X Games classic, from Hawk to PLG there have been some legendary stories go down on old faithful, and this year is no different. For the most part do one name, Shaun White, who will be competing in Skateboard Vert and Vert Best Trick. Nothing makes you feel better then seeing other people fall. At least that’s how we feel after watching the slams from Session 5 at Windells.
This funny video has all the carnage from campers and pros who tried to have their cake and eat it too.
The mellow music may have you thinking these falls are all fun and games, but the booty banger that drops around the 1:16 mark may make you think otherwise.
Enjoy!

Then, finally you have Vert going on at the Nokia Center. Then, mix in a slew of BMXers, freestyle motocrossers, rally car racers and whatever..

It’s been a strange day for X Games Legends with Travis Pastrana, Dave Mirra, and Danny Way all pulling out of their respective disciplines. Way was the last to announce he wasn’t going to compete in the Skate Big Air and Big Air Rail Jam. The full details are not clear, but it appears it’s not due to injury.
Meanwhile, the young Brazilian rookie Pedro Barros will make his X Games debut in the Big Air Final Thursday night live on ESPN. Barros qualified 2nd today behind fellow..

One of the defining moments in X Games history was in 1999, when Tony Hawk became the first skateboarder to successfully land a 900-degree rotation above the lip of a vert ramp.
That’s 2 1/2 spins while airborne, and Hawk nailed the landing on his 12th try.
Fast forward to 2010 and to a relatively new contraption called the Mega Ramp, which has delivered vert skating to daunting new heights.
Skateboarders must speed 70 feet down one ramp, soar and perform a..
