Transition. www.dictionary.com defines the word as; movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another. Shaun White has climbed into seclusion once more, presumably to master the 1080, an incredibly difficult trick despite its simplicity: three full spins above the halfpipe wall on a skateboard.
The red-haired action sports phenom will need something special to prevail in tonight’s X Games skateboard Vert and Vert Best-Trick competitions, because he has spent so much time away from skateboarding to focus on snowboarding.

This guy – Brett Prais – is not your run-of-the-mill everyday skater who can do ever flip trick in the book and do them switch as well while at the same time looking like thousands of other skaters out there. Brett is original, rides away from tricks with his feet not always perfectly positioned and he just seems to go after tricks differently than most skaters I’ve seen.

My mate Thomas Tröger from ÜBER Skateboards out of Hamburg, Germany sent over a video clip link featuring some skating of the ÜBER team members Kenny Hopf, Simon Schulz and Max Prause at our local indoor skatepark “Skateland” – made me realize I haven’t been in there for over 6 weeks with the summer heat and my baby being born…
