California Trip Day One

I came out to California to attend the Pro-tec Pool Party this Saturday. Since I can see the park from my hotel room I decided to walk over and see some of the pre-contest action. Everyone I saw was ripping. I am a new fan of Ben Raybourn, and psyched to see a whole new crop of vertical rippers.

Tomorrow I’m headed to LA because I don’t know any spots here in the OC and all the OC parks seem to require helmets.

‘Skateboarding Starts With éS’ site

éS have launched a new site called Skateboarding Starts With éS to celebrate its 15th birthday and educate the youth of today about the company’s history.

The site will be updated every two weeks for the next six months with classic ads, rare footage, photos, interviews, shoes and more.

You can currently view the company’s humble beginnings from 1995 – 1997 and look through old photos and videos of Eric Koston, Chad Muska and Bob Burnquist.

Insight x Daniel Shimizu ‘zine

Insight have bought out a special ‘zine called Death / Switch as part of a special creative collaboration with Daniel Shizimu.

The mini magazine features an interview with the pro skater as well as selection of photos by Shimizu himself, who seems to have a thing for cats, tattoos and trampolines.

His love of felines can also be seen on one of the t-shirt’s in his new range of clothing that also appears in the ‘zine.
