Very descriptive that title, I know, but I’m an impulsive guy – this video clip shows only a bit of the real thing and it is packed with really mad skating – very impressive, can’t wait for the full-length video!

A few years back I was working for Skateboarder magazine and was living out west to get the job done. At the same time my friend Vern Laird had also moved out west to live the dream and was working as the Team Manager for Listen skateboards. Every week or so, we’d talk on the phone sharing skate gossip…

Skating pools goes back to the late 1960s. Since early skaters discovered they could emulate surfing turns on the transitioned walls of empty swimming pools, the ride has never stopped. I guess it’s contest day here at GrindTV, as soon as I closed the email about Drydek’s new league, I opened an email about the Maloof New York City course. It’s been decided, the course will feature 14 of NYC’s most legendary spots. Enough from me, without further ado:Unlike it’s spoiled Orange County sister, the NYC course will not be destroyed at the conclusion of the contest, and will be donated to the skateboarders of the Big Apple as a city sanctioned park. Stay tuned for more.

Skateboarding has a new competitive outlet. Rob Dyrdek and the contest series he founded, Street League Series, announced on Wednesday that, “for the first time in history,” skateboarding will have a “professional league.” The idea is to have the best skateboarders the world has to offer competing “head-to-head” in a circuit, or a “series of individual stops.” It’s all set to go down this summer, the year 2010. Feeling a little mixed about another tour? Well, maybe the list of skaters already..

This is one great documentary about skateboarding in New York City with loads of skaters, filmers and photographers who have been representing and living in the Big Apple. Just over 18 minutes of plain skateboarding from HBO. Enjoy “The Get By” right here…
