Ed Templeton – As The Seconds Pass

Posted on March 5, 2010 with Comments Off

Last Friday night was the opening reception for pro skater, creator and all around artist extraordinaire, Ed Templeton, and his new showing, As The Seconds Pass in Culver City, CA. “It’s a Wrap” Reveals Chinese Skate Scene

Posted on March 4, 2010 with Comments Off

If you got time for the lengthy download, be sure to have a look at “It’s a Wrap” the first full-length skate video to come out of China with Fly skate shop, one of the country’s longest running core skate shops. Sure, you’ve seen plenty of these spots in videos and magazines from various US, European and Australian team travels, but it’s highly unlikely that you’ve witnessed some of the Chinese talent that is emerging over there.

Two years in the making, the 40-minute video introduces the country’s best skateboarders and GIFT team riders Che Lin, Johnny Tang, Boss Xie and Jeremy Hu with a special appearance by Paul Rodriguez. Footage was captured from spots all over China: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Suzhou, Hangzhou and Hong Kong.

On Christmas Day 2009, Nike SB and GIFT Skateboards co-hosted the premiere of “It’s a Wrap” at Central Studios in Shanghai with over 300 local skaters in attendance. When inquired about making this video, GIFT and FLY Streetwear founder, Jeff Han expressed: “It’s a Wrap is our gift of inspiration to all the skaters out there who have persevered through the years.”

So begin the download and walk away from your computer for 45 minutes or so. Once it’s ready to view, you’ll see a side of skateboarding in China that truly enlightens and shows that skateboarding is truly a global phenomenon.

CCS skate shop recently met up with Ryan Sheckler to find out what one of the most recognisable figures in skateboarding has been up to.

The Sheckler gives a guided tour of his private training facility and offers a brief glimpse of his new Etnies line that will be released later this year.

He also provides a few hints about what we can expect from him this year, including his section in the highly anticipated Plan B video.

Ryan has been out of action for several months due to a foot injury that he sustained during last year’s X Games and you can tell that he is simply itching to get back to what he does best.
