The Dekline Team came out to give away product, sigh autographs and session the parking lot at Urban skateshop in Poway, CA. The shop happens to be next to a huge gap. Somehow the day ended with Nick Merlino tossing out a crowd pleasing Frontside 180. Here are some photos and video of the day.

To celebrate the release of his first pro model shoe, Omar Salazar along with Paul Rodriguez, Stefan Janoski, Brian Anderson, Justin Brock, Grant Taylor, Daryl Angel, David Clark, Elissa Steamer, and Brad Staba will be in Sacramento on Sunday, March 7th for a demo at the B Street Skatepark. You know what my definition of being good at something is? Doing something difficult and making it look effortless. I think this comes into play in skateboarding more than any other sport-ish activity I can think of. Since skateboarding is considered by many, including myself, to be more of an art, and an outlet for self expression, than a sport, how you did it, becomes more important than what you did. A bit late with this info – the Etnies War Of The Roses 5 contest weekend is underway and we have the latest updates from the action!
Yesterday the first part of the contest weekend took place at The Works skatepark in Leeds, UK. No video updates are available just yet but we do have some pre-contest warmups featuring Mike Wright, Caradog, Manhead, Pulley and a recovering Ben Nordberg.
Today the action is taking place at Ramp City skatepark in Blackpool, UK and here’s the schedule:
UNSPONSORED COMPS (BEST TRICK FORMAT/PRODUCT PRIZES)
1. BEST TRICK ON THE NEW BIT (i.e. Pier 7 and New ledge set up) – start at 12pm
2. RAIL/STAIRS BEST TRICK – start at around 1pm
SPONSORED/PRO
1. RAIL/STAIRS BEST TRICK JAM (CASH ON THE SPOT PRIZES) – Starting off at 2pm for around 30 minutes
2. NEW FULLPIPE QUARTER GAP BEST TRICK JAM (CASH ON THE SPOT PRIZES) – Starting at 2.45pm for around 30 minutes.
3. BOWL JAM (CASH PRIZES) – Starting at 3.30pm and running till everyone has run out of steam.
