Towards the tail end of last year, Pepsi Cola made a surprising announcement that they would not be airing any of their commercials during the broadcast of the Super Bowl. They would, instead, redirect those funds into various community groups through a campaign is called  ‘The Pepsi Refresh Project’ .
The Bethlehem Skateplaza has applied for a $250 grant and would greatly appreciate support from the skate community.  Voting will take place for the month of March.  There is no cost to vote and you can vote multiple times.  Please help spread the word.

A quick article about the experience of a 21-year-old skater who spent a month teaching at the Skateistan program. Wow. Hats off to Robin and others like him, bring skateboarding to where it’s really needed.

The additions to the site continue this week…as we’ve decided to add commenting to our posts. In the past we’ve avoided this feature because many skate sites that ask users to chime in just become a dumping ground for negativity. We at SKATEDAILY.net started this site to be a positive place for skateboarding on the web, and we hope to keep it that way. That being said, we’ve added a ‘thumbs up / thumbs down’ feature. See a comment that is bad news? Click thumbs down. Stoked? Thumbs up.
Another feature is the ability to sign in to your system via your Twitter account. Your user name from Twitter will be used and you can instantly ‘Tweet your comment, which will contain a direct link. Not too shabby.
So let’s be careful out there…we are excited about this but want things to stay on topic and on target. Thanks again for all the support. See you out there. Skate daily.

Thanks to Stikman Films for this video impression from the Oakley Bowl-A-Rama 2010 bowl contest in Wellington, New Zealand.
And once again a big word up to Pedro Barros for his two wins in a row – I contacted him just yesterday and he’s such a down to earth guy, he’s once again willing to answer my questions after last year’s interview (check out the interview here!)

Collin Provost has been on the scene for quite some time but you might not have really noticed him until just recently. In the past year and a half, Provost has gone from the little super grom that we first took notice of in the Element Twigs video, “Tricks.” For those that missed that little seen gem,…

Matt Miller is the man of the hour. A Bay Area ripper, Miller first caught our attention in the video “Seasons 3.” Matt kept it rolling with the opener in Chris Mulhern’s “Few and Far Between” and then a TransWorld part in “And Now.” Last year, Miller dropped a standout part in the Zoo York’s “State…

The Krooked, Anti Hero and Real teams recently descended upon the Skatelab in California to mark its reopening and here is the video evidence.
There is some sick skatepark action from Dennis Busenitz, Ernie Torres, Justin Brock and many more.
You also get to see why being the little guy in a product toss can sometimes be unfortunate.
Oh well, what doesn’t kill him will only make him stronger!

Etnies have celebrated the release of Sean Malto’s first ever pro shoe with a slick new advert.
The short gem shows the Kansas ripper tearing up rails and ledges galore, with obligatory shots of his debut shoe.
The Malto comes in an all blue colourway with white laces and detail – a reference to his home state.
