Thrasher At The Girl Open House

Posted on February 2, 2010 with Comments Off

Girl skateboards had their 8th annual open house the other day. They open the doors to their skate facility, feed everyone In and Out, and show the industry what to expect from Girl/Chocolate/Fourstar/Royal/Skate Mental/Lakai in the upcoming year. They do this pretty much so they don’t have to go to the tradeshows, which kickoff tomorrow down in San Diego. Jake Phelps and the Thrasher crew made a little video of the event check it out:Thrasher Skateboard Magazine

Watch Mike Vallely's business talk with Landshark Wheels...

Have a laugh as Mike Vallely talks “business” with Landshark Wheels main man Kristian Svitak

The Landshark Wheels team is currently Mike Vallely, Kristian Svitak, Bill Danforth (!) and Ben Raybourn. If you didn’t know Kristian Svitak is one of the guys behind 1031 Skateboards which has a mad underrated team. I think I need to feature them and some of their videos – check out Ben Raybourns padless 540 below Mike Vallely’s video part, quite nice!

Jeron Wilson is an OG: Original Girl rider. One of the more subtle guys on that stellar team, Wilson has held down a solid pro career for at least a decade and a half. While some other pros with that kind of longevity at times get accused of milking it, Jeron has gotten nothing but love. Why is that, you ask? Because the man has never fallen off. He’s consistently consistent with his tricks and his coverage. No, he’s not a Daewon or a Chris Cole. He doesn’t rack up multiple video parts in a year…

Hoon Skateboards

Posted on February 1, 2010 with Comments Off

First it was a binging skate trip. Then it was a wheel company. Now Hoon is a full blown Autralian board brand. Need some more clarification? Let me break it down for you. Well over a decade ago, some of Australia’s best skaters would go on these long, drunken skate and camping trips. The madness, gnarliness and hangover-ness that ensued is the stuff of legend. Some of the gents that went on these trips, dubbed “hoon runs,” were already making a name for themselves in the States and beyond. Matt…

Vans ‘1966′ trailer

Posted on February 1, 2010 with Comments Off

Vans have recently released a trailer for their upcoming European team video, 1966.

The video is made by Paco and features full sections from the likes of Chris Pfanner, Ross McGouran and Danny Wainwright.

Hopefully the video is a lot more interesting than this rather questionable teaser.
