On Saturday January 23rd, 2010 full time professional Zoo York skateboarder and part time photographer, Zered Bassett turned the art world on its ear by rejecting numerous offers to show in any Manhattan gallery and opting instead to show his collection from his trip to Cuba in the sleepy mountain town of Mt. Vernon, New Jersey at >Mountain Creek’s South Lodge. Back in 2009 Zered and a bunch of skaters snuck into Cuba with a few hundred skateboards to give to the local skaters in Havana who are unable…

Kenny Reed comes through with his first full video part since “Static II” all the way back in 2004. Though this part, from the online release of Rasa Libre’s “Essence of Freedom,” isn’t quite on par with the “Static II” ender or his little seen by highly appreciated, New Deal “Seven Year Glitch” part, there are some old Reed standbys (stylish wallies, long backside five-0s, etc.) that will have older skaters reminiscing. Arto Saari, hot on the heels of his “Mind Field” blitzkrieg, has some great…

Guru Khalsa is many things all at once. He’s Texas and he’s India. He’s humble but he certainly stands out. Riding for Habitat skateboards for over 5 years, Khalsa has just made the leap into their pro ranks. He’ll have a full part in their new video due out this coming summer. Etnies have recently released a video featuring team rider Kyle Leeper entitled, It’s Not Where You Go, It’s How You Get There.
The video follows the creative mastermind from the Golden State as he cruises around his local neighbourhood, showing his amazing flatland skills along the way.
Anything featuring Kyle’s staggeringly innovative skate style gets our vote.

Andrew Allen has recently received a pro wheel from Spitfire and they have released a nice little promo to alert the masses.
The edit may not be very long but Andrew has managed to squeeze a lot of sick tricks in there and that micro ramp looks amazing.
Plus, you get to have a little chuckle at his expense when he eats dirt on a curve ledge.

intheCUTTS has just released a video of skate legend John Cardiel tracking down the best spots in Sacramento, California.
In this edit, pro skater Apollo Cutts tours the city with Cardiel on bikes, checking out the local banks and rails.
Cardiel famed for coining the Vans‘ ‘Off the Wall’ tag, was left temporarily paralysed in a road traffic accident in 2003.
Unable to skate professionally, he has since got into fixed gear bikes but it’s clear from the video, there’s still a hell of a lot of passion for skateboarding burning inside.
Says Cardiel: “Keep moving. If you ain’t skating, you better be doing something!”
