Either I’ve been out of the info loop or it has been a bit quiet with Bellows Skateboards out of Sweden – whatever it was they are back on my radar with a nice six minute video featuring Mika Edin and filmed by Erik Abrahamsson during the summer months of 2009. And they have a brand new site started up as well, all perfectly understandable for everybody speaking English – well, except for many comments.

Checking in with some shoe news, this time around from Emerica with the “G-Code!!!” which is Bryan Herman’s third Emerica pro model. Simple design which I dig a lot more than the retro-styled shoes which are popping up all over the place these days (designers – stop bringing back these so-called designs which hurt our eyes even back in the late 80’s, come on!) – 5 different colorways and yet another collab shoe, this time with the Shake Junt crew. Bryan talks us through how he thinks and feels about the new shoe in the video right here…

After a few days off to gather some needed rest and energy, the Pic Of The Day series continues with this massive ollie caught on film by Kyle van Emmerik with a Nikon D60. I like the simple composition, the spot which could be any street corner anywhere and once again the execution of the basic and most important trick of them all – an ollie!

Andy Scott is just one of those skaters that can ride all terrains and make it look so easy and stylish. He just has the skill to manipulate his board and body to do whatever he wants – at least it looks like that. With an incredible bag of tricks just waiting for him to throw another insane combo at us, it never gets boring to watch what he’s up to next. Here’s his part from the not so new (at least in this day and age) independent video effort “Baghead Flats” which was releaseed 2008 and shows some incredible skating from the Northern and Yorkshire UK scene.

Elemental Awareness, the non-profit organization that puts on contests, teaches wilderness skills, and helps send kids to skate camp, will start its annual contest series on January 9th in Peoria, Arizona. The overall winner of each contest stop receives a free trip to Element’s YMCA Skate Camp and the chance to compete for sponsorship by Element. Team riders will be guest judging several of the contest stops. I’d bet dollars to doughnuts that Levi Brown will be judging the Arizona stop; he’s got…
